From Coffea Diversa Estate--A coffee garden!
This exquisite coffee has a soft, delicate profile with quietly complex aromatics of lavender, cocoa and hints of molasses. Vibrant, but perfectly balanced acidity.
Geisha (also Gesha) is one of the most sought after varietals in the world of coffee aficionados. Geishas have won many awards recently and some green (unroasted) beans are being sold at auction for $250 per kilo!
We selected this coffee from the Coffea Diversa plantation in Costa Rica, close to the Panamanian border. The plantation is incredibly special as it grows the largest number of different coffee varieties in the world. The Coffea Diversa Estate has uniquely pioneered the botanical garden approach to coffee cultivation. Geisha, one of the Ethiopian wild coffee varieties, is an ancient and very rare coffee variety.
This Geisha from Coffea Diversa is "honey processed." That means that the sun-drying process is natural with none of the fruity mucilage removed. This imparts an exquisitely sweet syrupy flavor (a la honey), melon and spice, and an lingering sweetness.
